Newbridge: $50 million development in the heart of Murray Bridge.

Burke Urban is proud to announce Newbridge, a new $50 million master-planned residential development being built in the heart of Murray Bridge, with up to 350 residential allotments to be released over the coming years.

The 45-hectare land is located on the site of the former Murray Bridge Racing Club on the corner of Maurice and Mulgundawah Roads.

Located adjacent to the Murray Bridge Golf Club it features a tree-lined walking trail and two new fairways which will extend through the heart of the project, providing a naturally green welcoming entry to the development. The flexible masterplan may also include a retirement village and tourist accommodation site subject to market and council consent.

The first stage which has Development Approval by the Rural City of Murray Bridge, includes 23Ha with 129 Torrens Title allotments, ranging in size from 412sqm to 1061sqm with a median allotment size of 650m2 and offering different orientations and street frontages.

Burke Urban Sales and Marketing Director Olivia Burke said they can’t wait to launch the first stage of the Newbridge development to the community, which has been ten years in the planning.

“We have a long history of creating quality residential development projects like Newenham and Waterford both at Mount Barker and the Linear Park Estate on the River Torrens,” Olivia continued.

“With the Rural City of Murray Bridge experiencing unprecedented growth and so many projects planned for the immediate future, which will jump start local job growth, we look forward to building a strong community for our future residents of Newbridge,” Olivia said.

Rural City of Murray Bridge Mayor Brenton Lewis welcomed the announcement by Burke Urban and said our growing regional centre had become a destination of choice, with more people than ever choosing to live, work and play in Murray Bridge.

“The timing is perfect to open up a new housing development of this size in the centre of our Rural City, to meet housing demand fueled by industry expansion and enterprises such as the Thomas Foods International rebuild,” Mayor Lewis said.

“People are attracted by employment opportunities and a relaxed rural lifestyle by the river, where they can enjoy all the benefits of a thriving regional centre, just a short drive up the freeway from Adelaide. Newbridge presents a unique opportunity, offering prime real estate overlooking the golf course – the perfect place to build a dream home, right in the heart of our Thriving Communities. “Murray Bridge – Make It Yours!”  Mayor Lewis concluded.

The adjacent Murray Bridge Golf Club has plans to create two new fairways through the centre of Newbridge, and transform the golf course into a Par-71 Championship course.  The joint venture between Burke, Urban Gifford Hill Pty Ltd, the Murray Bridge Racing Club, and Thoroughbred Racing SA, the land for the new fairways will be donated plus an additional $350,000 will be invested into the construction of the fairways.

The Murray Bridge Racing Club officially opened the new Horse Racing facility at Gifford Hill in August 2019, unveiling their $35 million, state-of-the-art new home on their first official race day.

The first 37 allotments of the first stage of the Fairway Release is now on sale.

The Newbridge Sales Centre in former Murray Bridge Racing Club will be open in October with civil works for the project commencing in November.

The land sales for Newbridge are by Burke Urban’s licensed real estate company Burke & Burke Property, supported by local Murray Bridge and Murray Bridge Racing Club Committee Member John Leahy from Mason’s Real Estate and newly employed local Murray Bridge Kristy Persello as a Burke and Burke Sales Assistant.
